I Would Rather Be Pi$$ed Off Than Pi$$ed On!

Ok I am new to this site but not new to dieting and weight loss.  I finally faced the music tuesday and got on the scale so I could track my loss.  NOT.  Got on the scale today (two days later) before working out and it hadn’t gone down.  Boo hoo?  NOT!  It just made me mad.  I am a little discouraged but I have to remind myself that it does take time.  My body is still in shock from abstaining from my bad habits.  It takes time to train it to move into weight reduction mode and at this point fluid content can greatly influence the NUMBER up and down.  I have been drinking water like an elephant to flush all those evil toxins.

On a positive note I did my 35 min. on the old Precor elliptical and then walked 45 on a treadmill at 3 mph.  Once again the scale went down almost 4 lbs.  I typically can make it go down by 1 lb for every 20 min. I work out.  At least at this weight.  I am optimistic and more determined than ever to reach my goal but it would be nice to post a loss and show a trend in the right direction.

I hope everyone has a great happy healthy day.

Just keep it up! I highly suggest picking 1 day a week to be your “official” weigh in day and whatever the scale happens to say that day is what you post. Make it as close to the same time every week and that might help. Now I do “cheat” and look at my weight sometimes more often than I should but I don’t fret because I know that on Tuesdays (my weigh day) I get to really find out if my hard work paid off. Anyway, just an idea.

Sometimes you just gotta get mad dog mean about it to keep that determination goin.

Stick with it buddy. Those numbers WILL start going down. I think in a world of “instant gratification” humans, patience is one of the hardest things to learn.

I only try to weight once a week. This keeps my weight fluctuations (water weight, etc.) from doing a number on my mind. I respect the scales, but I no longer let them run my life and my emotions. Just not healthy… and I’m in this for healthy, know what I mean? LOL

    Keep at it buddy.

    Huggggggggggs,
    Shan

Just keep working on it, I would only get on the scale once or twice a week, why do that to yourself? I want to get on the scale to just see what it says but i dont, i wait I only weigh on Monday and Wed. See if something like that works for you.

That is what it took for me…I had to really get good and mad. Then things started changing! Good job on the elliptical and tread mill, keep it up! I agree with the others, I try to only weigh once a week, the fluctuations can really get discouraging. Welcome to Buddyslim, glad to have you here!

Great job on the working out!!!! I also think that maybe weighing in just once a week would help, because the ups and down can make one crazy!!!!! Keep up the good work:)

Weight loss is a journey we are all trying to tackle. Believe me we understand. Just stick with it, we all have our bad days but we just have to dust ourselves off and keep on moving.

Welcome to the site and good luck to you!!!!!!

I agree whole heartedly with all of you. I know I shouldn’t weigh everyday because the ups and downs drive you crazy. But since I am already crazy it is a short trip! I can tell you all that I feel better even though I can’t claim a 10 lb. weight loss the past two days. I just wanted to say thanks for the support.
