It is Monday and Where Is Your Head?

I rose this morning at my usual time of 5:30.  Let the dogs out, started the coffee, and read the news on the internet.  At 6:30 my DW hadn’t made it down stairs yet so I thought I would score some points and take coffee up to her.  I go upstairs with her coffee in hand and she says “Why are you waking me up so early?”  I said it is Monday and it is 6:30.  She politely informed me that for her that it is a holiday (MLK).  Well instead of scoring points I got four demerits.

I put on my work out duds and head to the gym.  I work out at the health club of an all girls college!  Woo Hoo!  So of course when I get there I read the sign on the door that says, “We will be closed Monday January 21 for MLK day.”  Not to be discouraged now on this road to a better life, I go home and jump on the treadmill and pound out a few miles.  Incidently my DW had trouble going back to sleep so she got up and drank the coffee I brought her.  I kept looking over my shoulder while on the treadmill thinking she was going to shoot me in the back.  But that would of been to easy.  I think she wants to inflict pain for revenge.  Note to self.  Check calendar before taking coffee to wife.

Tomorrow is my official weigh in day.  I am looking forward to it.  Ok so I have cheated and I have a good idea of what the number is going to be.  But it will still be an emotional boost to plot a point and show a positive trend.

Been doing real good on food intake.  Not too much and eating the right things.  Nuts, berries, sticks, grass, etc…  I did splurge and had four low fat triscuits with a small nurtle of cheese yesterday while watching a little feetsball.  I have gone the past week without any of those vice foods such as chocolate, candy bars, ice cream, sugar cookies, alcohol, etc…  and have worked out every day.  As I mentioned in an earlier post my only white vice is milk.  Even though I drink 0% fat skim milk, every glass has like 90 calories.  I can easliy drink a half gallon a day.  So that is one thing I have been focused on to curtail.  The rest has been easy so far.  Knock on wood.  I do have to keep reminding myself to relax and enjoy the journey one day at a time.  I keep thinking ahead.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy week and that you all meet your objectives.  I will bore you again tomorrow.  Bye.

John Boy

You have learned a valuable lesson - no good deed goes unpunished. Rest assured that DW is already secretly plotting her revenge. Live with that knowledge for a few days! In the future, before doing anything nice for her, always sit down for a few minutes and think through every possible outcome there could be. Look at the calendar, look at her planner, look at the web sites she has visited lately (any research on arsenic?). U said she couldn’t get back to sleep and drank the coffee anyway. My suspicion is she needed the caffeine - for what? Continued good health to you. Walk a few extra steps for me each day until I am able to!

You make me smile. You have a funny way of detailing what you did. lol
Ouch with the wife. I am sure she won’t shoot you in the back. I hope not! :)
Good job on getting exercise in regardless of the fat that the gym was closed. Makes me wonder if mine is closed….Hmmmmm

Good job on your eating and working out. Skim milk is good for you and I seem to want to drink more of it than I should too. I drink 1 small glass a day and then that it it! Keep up the good work you are doing!

I think you are doing great! Love your way of describing things! I wouldn’t mind being brought coffee ANY morning, your wife is lucky! Good luck tomorrow!

    sticks and grass… hehe…

    What an entertaining blog!

As a milk lover who used to drink at least a gallon of the stuff a day, I can honestly report that it does get easier with time. Since I’m a sugar and refined carb addict, I think mostly it’s the sugar in the milk that made it so appealing. However, since I’ve gotten off the sugar and no longer crave it so badly, the milk consumption has gotten easier to handle. I do allow myself 1 cup of 2% milk every evening as my treat.

You’re doing very very very well on your eating and exercising, and my bets are that you will see a good change at weigh in.

    Keep up the good work!

    Huggggggggs,
    Shan
p.s. DW may scowl at you for waking her up, but I’m betting she had a smile in her heart at the thought of you being so sweet to bring her a cup of coffee.

I’ve always heard that drinking fat free milk or eating low fat dairy products will actually help with weightloss. I know you can’t believe everything you hear but I thought I’d pass it on anyway. Besides there are worse things you could be drinking than milk! Have a great week!
